The Downton Abbey series has been a hit from the start. It has so much to offer. One of the best parts was the romance, it always felt full and intentional. Except Mary and Henry. In the series their relationship was sweet and charming, in every movie though their story has become complicated and maybe even over dramatic. It felt very much that they could have given Mary a far better story. Her ending however was my very favorite part of the whole movie-she becomes Lady Grantham and the torch has very much been passed from Violet to herself. Overall I was horribly disappointed with the writing, the makeup, the costumes, the plot. It felt like a very big promise to wrap up the Downton tale with a nice bow and was completely below expectations.
