Ah this one is really hard to put a rating on… there are some really great points. I love the intersection between Asian-American identity and mental health. I loved the ideas around protection, “Asian-workhorse-ness”, and normalization of having to be the best. And Lucy Liu kills it. But there are some head cocking moments, like how schizophrenia is kind of framed like a joker thing and there are a handful of cliche scenes. But overall very interesting watch and heartbreaking. I love the taboo and effort of it all, so I’m giving it a 4.
