mackqb8.9August 5, 2026This movie is such a masterpiece of cinema. It’s dramatic, it’s passionate, it’s horrific. Personally, it is not my favorite, but as a film it is simply amazing. There is so much of the passion that man holds behind each of the characters, most of which pursue their passions to the excess at which time it then becomes a vice, even Maximus. He pursues his love (which translates to be his anger) for his family to the point that he kills another man and in turn dies. Yes, it reunites him with his family, but it also provides a view into how much he loved his family and he let that love and grief at their loss overtake him completely. He was a hero in the ring because they created a monster with such a thirst for vengeance.
